Message from the Executive Director

The Bishops of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory have established CCER to provide leadership through service to Catholic employers in the area of employment relations.   

CCER provides leadership and support to strengthen the capacity of Catholic employers to develop workplaces in which human dignity and justice are affirmed and expressed in a way that advances the Mission of the Church. 

Our diverse membership is challenged to meet these objectives in a complex and constantly changing environment.  How CCER and its member agencies manage staff is critical to the Church’s capacity to serve others. 

CCER’s work ranges across the broad landscape of people and employment related issues.  Whether providing training and case management support, negotiating wages and conditions, giving legal advice or making submissions to government or tribunals, CCER’s work must always be imbued with dignity and justice. 

CCER is committed to responding to these challenges by continuously examining the value it provides to member agencies.  Our work, growth and value are enhanced by an open and ongoing dialogue with those we serve.  CCER will participate in this dialogue in a spirit of mutual understanding and respect. 

CCER is conscious that the money it receives from members is drawn from limited sources and that members reasonably expect a highly professional level of service delivered in an efficient, effective and competitive manner.  CCER staff will continue to work diligently to meet our members’ expectations. 

I look forward to working with current and new members to continue the work of the Church and to constantly strive together to bring the spirit of Christ to our workplaces, our work and the people we all serve.
